Even though we are marching ahead towards education and development, caste related violence is still occurring in so many nooks and corners of our country. The Wikipedia has this to say about that time: It is the most market-oriented country and has a policy of affirmative action.
Even after so many years of independence, we are still not able to free ourselves from the clutches of caste system. All this really makes one think that are we really independent? This composite nature of India is not by just accident, it is because of the way we think.
Yet, the various governments till now have failed to truly uplift the backward sections of the society and failed to provide them with equal opportunities even after 60 years of independence. Development of the society can be possible only if all the sections of the society are given equal opportunities.
But reservations instead of being caste-based to meet the political needs of our power hungry politicians, should be based on a more acceptable criteria through which every section of the society is benefited.
Everyone should pledge to work towards the development of India in a true sense and make India — a place full of love and happiness and mark it as a successful nation on the world map. But, today, one must take a moment to ask oneself — is India really free and independent?
